Introducing Peterson Dublin Filter Pipes Now at The Pipe Nook!

Posted by Eddie Gray on Jul 17th 2020

It's been a long time coming, but I've begun to introduce Peterson pipes here at The Pipe Nook, and I'm getting started by rolling out my personal favorite, the Dublin Filter series!

Originally designed for the German market, these 9mm filtered pipes smoke cool and dry with the help of a 9mm charcoal filter. Any 9mm filter can fit, including the Savinelli balsa filters (with gentle nudging), if that's your preference. And of course, they can be smoked without a filter in place if filters aren't your thing. But it's certainly nice to have the option. I've come to love how much easier and more enjoyable 9mm charcoal filters make pipe smoking for me that a 9mm filtered pipe is always my first recommendation to new pipe smokers. It's tough to get me to shut up about it, honestly. :)

There are 20 shapes in the Dublin Filter series, most with 3 variations: Rusticated with fishtail (standard) mouthpiece, smooth finished with fishtail mouthpiece, and smooth finished with the proprietary Peterson P-Lip mouthpiece. You can read about the P-Lip design in the individual pipe listings.

I purchased a "test pipe" in the Dublin Filter series, and have been smoking it for the better part of 3 months. Then I added another. And another. Now, I have 4, and I'm eyeing a 5th to add to my personal collection! I understand now why Peterson has so many devout fans around the world. Peterson has distinct shapes and variations of standard shapes that are so unique that they just aren't found in other lines. Plus, they smoke so well, and look good while doing it!

Peterson is a much celebrated company in the pipe world, and holds the record of being the longest continuously operating briar pipe facility in the world. Established in 1865 and still making their pipes in Dublin, Ireland, Peterson pipes have earned a place in many a pipe rack for more than 150 years!

I intend to add at least a few more Peterson pipe series in the near future, so be on the lookout for that in the months ahead. I'm always up for suggestions, if you have a favorite line you'd like to share. But if you've had your eye on a particular Pete and don't care to wait, feel free to email me and I can place a special order for you in the meantime.

Keep 'em lit,
Eddie Gray
